PRESENTATION NIGHT 20th June 2014
The Clubs annual end of season Presentation Evening was held at the Churchdown Community Centre on Friday 20th June.
Russ Fulford, Club Secretary, hosted the evening, paying tribute to the players, parents and volunteers who make club the success that it is. We have around 250 children, and with the Senior team, we now push 300 active players.
It has been a succesful season, with U14 double winners, and GFA winners. Then the U15 league champions, and the Mens CAFL Division 2 champions. Our U11 Reds team also demonstrated the ethos of the club, picking up the CYFL Sportsmanship award for 2013-14.
While we had our highs, without question the low point was learning that our dearly departed Chairman, Mr Keith Clark, lost his battle with illness at the end of April.
This evening was the pinnacle of the season for Keith, and it was as much about celebrating his contribution over the last 22 years, as it was about recognising every single player that is part of our club.
The club thanks every individual who contributed to Keiths chosen charity, The British Lung Foundation, on entry to the presentation evening.
We also introduced the Keith Clark Memorial, a brand new annual award, which will recognise the individual volunteer who has made significant contribution to the club over the last 12 months. The club would like to thank Mrs Wendy Clark, who purchased this award for the club.
It was also a delight to have Keith's son, Mr Nick Clark, with us to help present the awards. Nick was the young man, who when his Panthers U10 side did not have a manager, put up his hand and said, "my Dad will do it". The rest is history!
We were also joined again this year by Mr Joe Hanks. Joe helped present the awards last season too, after having just signed a professional contract with Cheltenham Town FC. Despite playing much of the season out on loan, Joe has added to his caps with Cheltenham this last season.
